Dental Care for Del Aire, CA
Del Aire is an unincorporated Census-Designated Place — not a city — of 10,338 people governed by LA County, sitting directly under the LAX flight path on the western edge of Hawthorne. Lennox Dental serves residents of this South Bay community and the neighborhoods around it.
Aviation, freeways, and a county address
Del Aire takes its name directly from Spanish: “Of the Air.” The community sits at the I-405/I-105 interchange, with Los Angeles Air Force Base — now home to Space Systems Command of the U.S. Space Force — sharing its eastern boundary. That base is the only active-duty military installation in greater Los Angeles, and a meaningful share of its personnel live in and around Del Aire. The CDP has two distinct sections: a northwest piece bounded by the 105 and the City of Los Angeles, and a second piece east of the freeway running roughly from El Segundo Boulevard to Rosecrans Avenue.
The Aviation/Imperial Metro C Line station sits directly adjacent to Del Aire’s northwest border, giving residents a rail connection to downtown Los Angeles, Long Beach, and the airport without requiring a car.
Two ZIP codes, one community
Del Aire is not incorporated. It is a Census-Designated Place governed by LA County’s 2nd Supervisorial District, which means county fire, sheriff, and public health services rather than a city’s. Mailing addresses in the CDP carry either a Hawthorne ZIP code (90250) or an Inglewood ZIP code (90304), depending on location, and area codes are 310 and 424. For residents accustomed to dealing with county offices rather than a city hall, that distinction comes up every year.
Wiseburn Unified School District
Every part of Del Aire is zoned to Wiseburn Unified School District. The district traces its founding to March 5, 1896, originally serving Del Aire, Hollyglen, Wiseburn, and part of El Segundo. Wiseburn voters approved conversion to a full K–12 unified district in November 2013, with unification taking effect in 2014.
The neighborhood’s own public elementary school, Del Aire Elementary at 12110 S. Hindry Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250, serves TK through 5th grade. Enrollment for 2025–26 stands at 596 students, and the school received the California Distinguished Schools Award in 2020.
Who lives here
The 2020 Census counted 10,338 residents across 1.01 square miles — a density above 10,000 people per square mile across 3,713 housing units. The community is majority-Hispanic, with 47.2 percent of residents identifying as Hispanic or Latino (approximately 4,877 people), followed by White (31.0%), Asian (10.2%), multiracial (5.0%), and Black (4.7%). Recent American Community Survey estimates put median household income between $141,533 and $142,566, consistent with the area’s long-established owner-occupied housing base.
